Only God Can Break Chains Like These

Journal Excerpt: December 5, 2012

This book came to my family at the end of something. It remained empty for almost a year. Now, this book marks the beginning of something. Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

I don’t understand a lot of what has happened in my life. I don’t understand why bad things happen and how there can be so much pain in the world. All I know is that my God loves me. Even when it doesn’t feel like it. My God loves me. And, "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

“The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same; Yet our lessons come from the journey…” Here, not at the end of something or the beginning of something, but in the middle, I strive to “know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that I may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19
